| After planning my own wedding a few years ago, I became overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. Our "simple little" wedding in Charleston, SC quickly turned in to our complicated, stressful, big wedding in Charleston. On a whim and tear, without my then fiance's approval, I cancelled our Charleston Wedding. I called him and told him I had made a decision while under stress. I informed him that I had cancelled our November Charleston wedding and booked us a Hawaiian honeymoon, where we could elope, just me and him! ...And by the way,...We were getting married in July! I just wanted to show up, and enjoy our wedding. With this said, I wanted to provide an affordable alternative for brides who were in my shoes. Being that I already owned Oak Island Photography, I decided to open Oak Island Weddings. My goal was and is to allow brides from all over to enjoy a nice, stress free, relaxed wedding that everyone will enjoy!
